Press Ganey Summit Award - Emergency Department & Inpatient
The Summit Award is awarded by Press Ganey, a nationally recognized customer satisfaction surveyor. Recognizes top performing hospitals that sustain the highest level of patient satisfaction (95% patient satisfaction or above) for three or more consecutive years. One of the most coveted symbols of patient satisfaction achievement in the healthcare industry.
Ambulatory Surgery Press Ganey Guardian of Excellence Award
Kirby Medical Center’s Surgery Department was the 2015 Guardian of Excellence Award winner by Press Ganey Associates, Inc. The Guardian of Excellence Award recognizes top-performing facilities that consistently achieved the 95th percentile of patient satisfaction in each quarter of the year.

The Joint Commission Gold Seal of Approval
Kirby has earned The Joint Commission’s Gold Seal of Approval. This comprehensive evaluation measures the quality and safety standards of the hospital. The organization looks at the safety of patients, effectiveness of the treatment provided, and the environment of care. The Joint Commission is an independent, nonprofit organization, and is the nation’s predominant standards-setting and accrediting body in healthcare.
Becker’s Infection Control & Clinical Quality named Kirby Medical Center in the top 52 hospitals with the cleanest patient rooms, as reported by patients
Kirby Medical Center was rated one of the top hospitals with the cleanest rooms at 93 percent. The list of hospitals for which 89 percent or more of patients reported that their room and bathroom were "always" clean on their HCAHPS Survey. Data was pulled from Hospital Compare and is from January through December 2013, the most recent data available. For reference, the national average rate for patients reporting their room and bathroom were "always" clean is 74 percent.
