Press Ganey Summit Award - Emergency Department & Inpatient
The Summit Award is awarded by Press Ganey, a nationally recognized customer
satisfaction survey recognizing top performing hospitals that sustain
the highest level of patient satisfaction (95% patient satisfaction or
above) for three or more consecutive years. It is one of the most coveted
symbols of patient satisfaction achievement in the healthcare industry.
Excellence in Patient Care Studer Group Award- Emergency Department
The Kirby Emergency Department in Monticello, Illinois has been recognized
for demonstrating outstanding performance in emergency department patient
care in 2016. To be considered for an award in this category, an organization
must rank in the 75th percentile or higher for overall emergency department
satisfaction as measured by patient satisfaction surveys.
Excellence in Patient Care Awards are presented annually to a select group
of organizations from Studer Group’s partner base of hospitals,
health systems, and physician organizations. To be eligible for an award,
an organization must demonstrate outstanding performance and achievement
in patient care, employee engagement, or physician engagement.
Ambulatory Surgery Press Ganey Guardian of Excellence Award
Kirby Medical Center’s Surgery Department was the 2015 and 2016 Guardian
of Excellence Award winner by Press Ganey Associates, Inc. The Guardian
of Excellence Award recognizes top-performing facilities that consistently
achieved the 95th percentile of patient satisfaction in each quarter of the year.

The Joint Commission Gold Seal of Approval
Kirby has earned The Joint Commission’s Gold Seal of Approval. This
comprehensive evaluation measures the quality and safety standards of
the hospital. The organization looks at the safety of patients, effectiveness
of the treatment provided, and the environment of care. The Joint Commission
is an independent, nonprofit organization, and is the nation’s predominant
standards-setting and accrediting body in healthcare.
Top 52 Hospitals with Cleanest Patient Rooms – Becker’s Infection
Control & Clinical Quality
Kirby Medical Center was rated one of the top hospitals in the nation with
the cleanest rooms at 93 percent. The list of hospitals for which 89 percent
or more of patients reported that their room and bathroom were "always"
clean on their HCAHPS Survey. For reference, the national average rate
for patients reporting their room and bathroom were "always"
clean is 74 percent.

National Rural Health Association’s Top 20 Best Practices in Patient
Satisfaction Award for 2017
Kirby Medical Center was ranked in the Top 20 for patient satisfaction
among all critical access hospitals in the U.S. This ranking is based
on data compiled by iVantage Health Analytics in its Hospital Index, specifically
the patient satisfaction domain.
We are also the proud recipients of the American Cancer Society Lakeshore
Division - Kirby Cancer Lifeguards - 2014 Relay for Life - Team Excellence
Award and the ABC - Excellence in Construction Award.
