Meet Crystal. Crystal is a new member of our Kirby team. Crystal has joined
our Therapy Department and KMC Active program as an athletic trainer.
Crystal has a Masters Degree in education with an emphasis in kinesiology
and sports management. She brings experience working with junior high,
high school, and college athletes ( D1 & D3). Crystal has worked with
all sports at Argenta-Oreana High School including football, volleyball,
soccer, cross country, basketball, wrestling, baseball, softball, and
track. Most recently, she has worked with cross country and track at Millikin
University in Decatur.
Her new role at Kirby Medical Center will be splitting her time between
the Therapy Department, Kirby Wellness, and at Argenta-Oreana High school
covering for practices and games. She will be working with all of the
athletic teams and will follow them from season to season. She will help
with injuries and hopes to eventually coach Crossfit.
Crystal chose Kirby Medical Center because of their recent relationship
with the AO school district.
"I am happy to become a part of the team at KMC as an athletic trainer.
I really enjoy the health care setting and helping people that are active
or trying to return to becoming active again. My favorite part of the
job is to work with an athlete from the time they are injured and see
the process it takes for them to overcome an injury and return to playing
the sport they love. This can be a very rewarding process although very
tough at times."
