Dear Friend of Kirby Medical Center and The Kirby Foundation,
This past year, more than any before, I have an appreciation for the medical
field and what it offers. And I’m proud of what Kirby Medical Center
has again achieved. We were named a Top 20 Critical Access Hospital for
Patient Experience by the National Rural Health Association and received
the Press Ganey Guardian of Excellence Award in the Emergency Department
for being in the top five percent of emergency departments in the nation.
These awards come on the heels of many similar awards over the last few
years. What has made the difference? It’s a focus on our CARES (Compassion-Attitude-Respect-Excellence-Stewardship)
core values and trying each day to make that day special for our patients
and visitors. It’s bringing the best specialists to our community
to keep healthcare close to home, such as Dr. Jacob Sams and Dr. Donald
Sullivan, who performed our first hip and knee replacements here in Kirby’s
surgery department. And it’s investing in our community’s
future by growing to accommodate the needs of our current and future patients
by expanding our departments and spaces through our “What a Little
Change Can Do” hospital expansion campaign.
You never know when you’ll need health and medical services; I can
attest it’s when you least expect it. Expect that we will be there
for you, your family and loved ones. We thank you for entrusting your
care to us and helping us make Piatt County a healthier place to live!
