Joan Gilles and her husband,
Clarence have traveled and lived around the world, from Morocco to Germany
to Spain and beyond. Within the Untied States, Joan and Clarence have
called Maine, Arizona and, most recently, Illinois home. Throughout all
their travels and experiences, Joan considers her relationship with Kirby
Medical Center something extra special.
"Nothing comes close to Kirby," says Joan. "Every department
at Kirby is competent, caring, and the culture is like no other."
From exercise programs to lab work, Joan uses Kirby for every aspect of
her health. She and Clarence are both pilots, and Kirby performed their
aviation physicals. Together, they have countless stories to tell. Clarence
was a fueler fighter in three wars, Joan is a nurse, and together they
started an occupational medicine business. Needless to say, Joann knows
what to look for in the health care industry.
"I know the hard work that goes into building an awesome medical staff,"
Joan says. "Many hospitals forget TLC, but the staff here is cheerful
and kind. I have yet to meet someone that does not walk on water at Kirby."
Joan is moving to Ohio soon, meaning Kirby is going to be missing one of
its biggest fans.
"I am 87 years young, and I've learned that if I need something,
I find a guru and stick with them," says Joan. "If I could,
I would shout from the rooftops that Kirby care is the best."
Patients like Joan are what make the Kirby community remarkable. The entire
staff at Kirby wishes Joan the best on her next great adventure.
