The Kirby Foundation is excited to announce Tony Kirkman of Monticello
recently joined our Board of Directors.
A native of Cerro Gordo, Tony received his Bachelors of Science in the
field of psychology with a minor in sociology from Illinois State University.
He went on to get a Masters of Science in Counseling from Lincoln Christian College.
His professional experience includes working as a caseworker and later
a family therapist at Webster- Cantrell Hall, serving for over 10 years
as the executive director at a local, faith-based nonprofit and serving
as an adjunct faculty member in the psychology department at Lincoln Christian
College. He has over 18 years of professional experience in the mental
health field. Tony became a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor in
2003 and was also ordained as a minister in 2012. He has served the last
3.5 years in his current role as the executive director of the Piatt County
Mental Health Center.
According to Sarah Ross, director of development for The Kirby Foundation,
the Board is very fortunate to have Tony’s volunteer leadership
and professional experience.
“Tony has a genuine eagerness for helping Kirby Medical Center create
community partnerships and continue a legacy of healthcare excellence
in Piatt County,” says Sarah. “His enthusiastic and helpful
attitude are contagious. We’re very grateful for his leadership
and his willingness to help the Foundation raise philanthropic contributions.”
Tony and his wife, Crystal, have two boys, Isaac and Christopher.
As a board member, Tony hopes to continue to help Kirby advance and plan
for the future.
“I would like to see the Foundation continue on with their natural
trajectory of community engagement and find new ways to inspire the younger
generation toward careers in a healthcare field,” he says.
