We are celebrating Valentines Day this year by sh
aring one of our Kirby Couples, Jim and Cathy Manint!
Cathy and Dr. Manint are both employees with Kirby Medical Group in Monticello.
They both have been longtime employees with Kirby Medical Center. Dr.
Manint began working as a custodian at Kirby when he was only a sophomore
in high school. It was during this time that he first witnessed the positive
impact a physician can have on the life of a patient and decided to become
a doctor. They started a private practice together in Febuary of 1984
in the office space next door to Kirby. They were independent until they
joined Kirby in the early 2000's. Cathy was the bookkeeper for the
practice and worked mainly from home. Jim is now a highly-experienced
family practice/geriatrics physician with Kirby.
Jim and Cathy met in the Bement High School Principal's office. She
happenened to forget her PE clothes the same day he was registering for
school. They have been married for 46.5 years! Wow! They have two wonderful
children,
Matthew (43) and Jeannine (40). They also have two grandkids, Lucy (10)
and Drew (8).
Outside of working together, they enjoy biking together, visiting their
children in Biloxi and Pitssburgh, and also going flying! They enjoy day
trips and spur of the moment events. They also spend time checking out
unique shops and restaurants.
Jim has been around for a lot of the changes that have occured throughout
the years. What he likes most about Kirby is that the patients that he
sees everyday are very pleasant and appreciative of the services we offer.
"We get to spend each day 'together' and feel like we make
a difference in so many people's lives. I feel like we have two families-
our own family and
the many coworkers we have at Kirby. Kirby is like a second home to us
as we both have worked here for almost 36 years!" - Cathy
We are so thankful for the postive impact the Manints provide for Kirby!
