Kirby Medical Center's Jordan Barney Named One of ICAHN's 4 Under 40 Winners

KIRBY MEDICAL CENTER’S JORDAN BARNEY NAMED ONE OF ICAHN’S 4 UNDER 40 WINNERS

CHAMPAIGN, IL—The Illinois Critical Access Hospital Network (ICAHN) announced its 2025 “4 Under 40” Hospital Leadership winners, including Kirby Medical Center Director of Health & Fitness Jordan Barney, during the organization’s Annual Conference held November 3 - 4 at the I-Hotel and Conference Center, Champaign.

 

He is joined in this honor by Family Nurse Practitioner Gloria Przygoda from Pinckneyville Community Hospital; Executive Director of Pharmacy and Supply Chain Logan Fiscus from Lawrence County Memorial Hospital; and Pharmacy Manager Stephen Salisbury from Taylorville Memorial Hospital.

Barney joined KMC as a part-time CrossFit Coach while he was still in college, moving to full-time after graduation and attaining the roles of Coordinator, Gym Manager and this year, Director of Health & Fitness. He has significantly expanded gym operations, including opening a satellite location, starting the organization’s Athletic Training program for area schools and engaging employees in fitness programs.

“Jordan is opening a second satellite location in Atwood this year, and he has developed a wide variety of new fitness programs, grown our Athletic Training presence, and is available to see patient who need instruction and ideas for exercise routines,” said KMC Chief Compliance Officer Andrew Buffenbarger.

ICAHN’s “4 Under 40” Hospital Leadership Award is open to new and emerging leaders aged 40 and under employed by an ICAHN member hospital or as a member of this hospital’s board for at least two years with a strong record of innovation and outstanding performance.

Located in Princeton, IL, ICAHN is a network of 60 small, rural hospitals dedicated to strengthening the operations of its member hospitals through collaboration. The organization is composed of Illinois hospitals who have earned critical access hospital designation by the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services and is recognized nationally for its work with rural healthcare, administering several state, federal, and private healthcare programs.
