Taking Charge of Your health in 2022

Setting goals for the New Year can be overwhelming. But we're here to let you know that little changes every day can add up over time! Here's how you can set small goals to make 2022 your healthiest year yet.

Drink More Water

Drinking enough water each day is a simple way to support your overall health Not only does it keep you adequately hydrated, it also helps to support a healthy weight and reduces the number of calories you consume from sugary drinks like sodas and juices. Try To aim for drinking 8 8-ounce glasses of water throughout the day!

Take a Daily Walk

According to the American Heart Association, it is recommended that adults get at least 150 minutes (2.5 hours) of moderate-intensity aerobic activity each week. While we often think of hitting the gym or playing sports as means of exercise, taking your first steps toward fitness can be as simple as taking a walk. By setting aside just 30 minutes a day to take a walk, you can jumpstart your fitness journey and hit your weekly activity goals.

Start Your Day with a Stretch

Stretching isn’t just a great way to wake yourself up in the morning, there are plenty of health benefits too! Some of the many ways that yoga and dynamic stretching support your health include:

  • Improving your flexibility
  • Improving your posture
  • Decreased risk of injury
  • Reduced pain and soreness
  • Released muscle tension
  • Increased energy levels
  • Reduced stress levels
  • Increased blood flow to your muscles

So when you wake up, take your stretching routine beyond stretching your arms above your head Set aside 10 minutes before you start your day to work through the various parts of your body.
