COVID-19 Information

Kirby Medical Center is not a COVID testing site and we are encouraging people to stay home if symptoms are mild and manageable. Please click here the link to find state testing sites in your area.

If you feel your symptoms need addressed by a provider, please call your primary care physician first. Kirby Quick Care is also offering telephone visits. You will speak to a provider over the phone about your symptoms and she will help determine the best plan of care for your symptoms. Please call 217-762-1790 to get more information or to schedule a telephone visit. Kirby Medical Center COVID testing requires a doctor's order based on symptoms, exposure, or scheduled surgical procedures.

Kirby Medical Center does offer COVID-19 testing collection with a doctor’s order, just as with any other lab test done at Kirby. These tests are then sent for processing. Again, these are done with a provider’s order based on symptoms, exposure, congregate living situations, and for surgical procedures. If you would like to have a test collected at Kirby, please contact your provider to discuss your needs. For questions, please call 217-762-2115

As we increase outpatient services and appointments, the following measures have been set to ensure the ongoing safety and protection of our patients, their families, and our staff.

  • We continue to screen all visitors and patients.
  • We require that everyone enters Kirby Medical Center wearing a mask or face covering.
  • We are allowing one visitor (support person) to accompany patients for surgery, on our inpatient unit, and also when appropriate in the Emergency Department. We will continue to ask patients to come alone for outpatient services if possible.
  • We ask that all patients come alone for service if at all possible. Please let us know how we can help with this.
