Then: Where It Began

Early surgical care at Kirby took place in modest operating rooms with basic equipment. Despite limitations, these spaces brought critical care to the community—reducing the need for patients to travel far from home.

Now: Advanced Care, Close to Home

Today, Kirby’s surgical services have expanded to offer a wide range of specialized care, including:

· General surgery, colonoscopies, and EGDs

· Orthopedic procedures such as total joint replacements

· Urology services, including lithotripsy, laser treatments, and MRI-guided prostate biopsies

· Gynecological surgical care

Patients can now receive more advanced procedures locally—improving access, convenience, and outcomes.

Looking Ahead

Kirby continues to invest in the future, with plans to expand surgical services through additional operating rooms, enhanced patient spaces, and improved facilities—ensuring the community has access to high-quality care for years to come.
