Vascular Screenings Available at Kirby Medical Center’s Imaging Department

More than 750,000 strokes occur each year. 75% could have been prevented with the use of ultrasound screenings and proper physician follow-up.

Tests Included In The Screen Are:

• Ankle-Brachial Index (ABI) with Doppler: Assess arterial perfusion to the legs and identifies the presence of peripheral vascular disease (PVD).
• Carotid Artery Screening: Detects narrowing of the arteries that supply blood to the brain and assist in stroke prevention.
• Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm (AAA) Screening: Evaluates the abdominal aorta for the presence of wall weakening or dilation.

• Family History
• Lack of Exercise

Cost is $75 for all three tests. Cash payment due at the registration for the screening exam.
